After traveling around both, North and South Islands, I can now point to the place where your wedding is sure to be out of this world.
Add the charm and beauty of both the immediate participants: the bride and groom, to the enchanting beauty of the place(location!) and nothing in the world I know comes even close!
What’s the location I’m talking about?
It’s Mount Cook a.k.a. Aoraki, a mountain located in Mackenzie district of Canterbury region of New Zealand.
You have to see it for yourself, before committing. But there are many photos and videos online that will help you appreciate my enthusiasm.
And before you even get there, you’ll travel alongside a stunning glacier Lake Pukaki, dazzling you with its iridescent azure luster. Stunning!
At the end of the road leading to Mt Cook, lies Mt Cook Village.
There are numerous accommodation options available in the Mt Cook Village – from the basic backpackers quarters, to the luxury Hermitage Hotel, where they even will organize a complete wedding for you.
However, booking your accommodation in Mt Cook Village needs to be done well in advance, as large groups of tourists (predominantly from Asia) keep the availability on the low side.
As a last resort, you can organize quarters for your wedding party in Twizel, 64 km away, and the wedding ceremony at the foothills of Mt Cook. Life-time memories guaranteed for the newlywed and everybody else. And with the mighty Aoraki (the Cloud Piercer in Maori) being the witness to your marriage vows, you’re virtually assured that the bond will last forever!
